Now also in English!

“And there was light”… between the clouds as we drove our little boat filled with drinking tub bellied sadza eating (go figure) parents, screaming spoiled children and three pancake filled Americans who insisted on playing loud rock music from their speakers, despite the fact that every native Zimbabwean utterly hates everything that is not bad music/plingplong music. We, Karoline and me, where accompanying our three American friends on a so called “Boosecruize” (translation: Danskebåten for you Norwegians) on a lake near Great Zimbabwe and so far it was hard to separate the adults crying for more beer and the kinds screaming for more candy.

We held our cool and smiled for the photographer but in reality we where both so utterly close to jump ship and swim to shore. The next day we went to se the pride of Zimbabwe and the motive on the old currency Zim dollars. I tried to climb it, pretending I was illiterate and dumb not managing to read the “No climbing” sign two meters to my right, and it almost worked! At least our guide seemed to view me as simple minded the rest of the day.

Great Zimbabwe monument, not for climbing obviously...

Some days later my colleagues eventually got their thumbs out of their …..cards, and decided to finally finish the Fitness certification. I gave them the last challenge of coaching four of their friends through a workout, and I was utterly amazed to see the set up and performance starting with joint mobility to ending with some playful monkey chins.

Mr Mo is the role model in deep jointing action

I was so proud to finally sign their certification! The guys insisted on photos and I agreed with the condition that they all smile and keep from doing the typical Zimbabwean cool looks, meaning angry faces looking away from the camera, witch they all agreed to but only half could manage. Either way, good job guys!!

Cainan came to visit Chinhoyi and we both strapped on our Vibrams and went for a walk on my favorite dessert/jungle path. Im planning on dedicating a separate article for these fantastic barefoot shoes and their effect on me, but ill give you a peak since I know that some of you guys have this incredible foot fetish and urge to get more feet pictures.

Anyhow, after some, close to barefoot, walking in beautiful terrain we acted like monkeys on my new playground and literary behaved like ten-year-old children. It was super fun to have a playmate that could challenge me a bit again! On another note we are both getting pretty longhaired by now and hanging upside down I could finally tell Cainan that his hair was “totally radical” dude.

Look at all that hair!!

I just finished “Shantaram”. I’ve read so many books lately and I will write a separate article about them later, but this one stands out as a masterpiece of novels and deserves some mention now. It was a journey to read it and I can absolutely recommend it to all of you regardless of what you usually prefer to read.

And what is this? Wool socks?? In Zimbabwe!!

Not my feet for once, but Karolines in wool socks. Wool Socks!!!

On a final note: Karoline has started wearing wool socks in Harare! I dear hope that this might mean a reclining heat in Chinhoyi as well, as I am close to digging a deep hole in our backyard for sleeping. Imagine taking off all of your clothes, removing every single layer of sheets on the bed or even laying down on the bare floor, assume the famous star position and pray that sleep finds you before there is a five liter pool of sweat under you. Five minutes later there it is, the five liter sweat pool. Now try to get some sleep…

Ill leave you with that on your mind as you all cuddle up in your warm beds in those nice cool rooms back home. And what the hell, some of the view i got from the lake near Great Zimbabwe.
